| Jackals Earn 8-5 Home Win | The Jacksonville Jackals spoiled a good performance by Philadelphia shortstop Miguel Trujillo, bumping off Philadelphia, 8-5, at Jackals Stadium. Trujillo was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Dave Perez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Mike Ludwig got credit for the save for Jacksonville. It was his 7th of the year.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jacksonville third baseman Josh Kamps gave his team the lead. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mamelo hit his 6th double of the year. Philadelphia pitcher Jose Jaramillo surrendered it. With that, the Jackals jumped in front, 6-5.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Kamps told the Jacksonville Times. "But we take nothing for granted."
Jacksonville, with the win, is 10-19.
