| Sunrays Stun Vipers, 7-4 | The Detroit Vipers got a sterling performance from catcher Rudolf Bishop, but the Tampa Bay Sunrays still prevailed, 7-4. Bishop was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Mario Mora, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. Tampa Bay has an impressive 24-8 record.
Tampa Bay used the timely hitting of Nick Harlan to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sunrays on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Harlan. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
