| Tampa Bay Roughed Up By Fury | The Philadelphia Fury met little resistance from the Tampa Bay Sunrays, beating them, 12-3, at Fury Field. Jason Corbett led the way. He hit 3 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5 for Philadelphia. Danny Ramirez got the win, improving to 3-3. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. James Gambon recorded the save for Philadelphia, his 1st of the season.
With Philadelphia leading 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Corbett came up to bat against Tampa Bay pitcher Izzy Zambrano. Corbett hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Fury on top, 8-3.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Philadelphia skipper David Fields.
