| Down to Defeat Goes New York, 1-0 | The Jacksonville Jackals used a great performance from Miguel Millan, who is a three-time All-Star, to beat the New York Empire, 1-0, at Empire Ballpark. The winner was Millan. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Mike Clark. Scott Lohmann earned save number 11.
Brian Taylor, who is tied for 3rd in the IL in RBI with 24, had a direct impact on the outcome. Taylor contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Jacksonville up, 1-0.
