| Paucar Rips 2 Homers in 5-2 Win | Behind the bravura of first baseman Enrique Paucar, the New York Empire topped the Jacksonville Jackals by the score of 5-2. Paucar hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Empire. Bobby Frausto picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Raul Rodriguez, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in complete games with 1, was tagged with the loss. Danny Gephart picked up the save, his 5th.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Paucar hit a 3-run home run off Raul Rodriguez. It propelled the Empire into the lead, 4-1.
Paucar attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Empire are now 14-19, while the Jackals fall to 25-8.
