Galvan Slugs Empire to 9-2 Win
At Empire Ballpark, the Philadelphia Fury and New York Empire were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

No one was more impactful than Jorge Galvan in the 9-2 New York win over Philadelphia. Galvan slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Danny Garcia got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Fury to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Ricky Rael got credit for the save for New York. It was his 1st of the year.

Galvan contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped New York get the win.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager David Fields.

The Empire, now 4-1, have stormed out of the gates.
