| Robbers Rally to Eke Out Win | Starting pitcher Alex Matos gave the Toronto Robbers a rock-solid effort. The General Escobedo, Mexico native helped his team defeat the Miami Makos, 2-1, at Honolulu Stadium. Reliever Martin Duarte picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jesus Barajas took the loss. Miami's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Anton Molina to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Robbers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Molina after the game. | | | | |
