| Orange Get Past Chicago, 5-4 | Though he had a stellar game, Mark Martin could not prevent his team, the Chicago Hawks, from losing, 5-4, to the Orlando Orange. Martin hit 2 home runs. J.D. Dobson snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-2 on the season. Stephen Wilkins suffered the loss. Diego Marquez earned save number 8.
The Orange beat the Hawks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Cody Cherry produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Stephen Wilkins, Cherry gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he hit a run-scoring single.
Orlando manager David Fields praised his team's "energy."
The Orange saw their win-loss record go to 13-23. At the same time, the Hawks fell to 17-19.
