| Miami Beats Toronto 3-1, Magana Ks 16 | Juan Magana of the Miami Makos put on a pitching clinic at Honolulu Stadium, as he struck out 16 Toronto Robbers in a 3-1 victory. Magana, who finished 4th in the IL in ERA with 1.85 in 2042, was simply magnificent, holding the Robbers to 3 hits. He walked 3.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Magana said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Magana's performance, Makos manager David Fields shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
Magana has started 8 times this year, pitched 55 innings, fanned 76 batters and walked 17. His current record is 4 wins and 3 losses with a 2.78 ERA. | | | | |
