The Chicago Hawks took Val Kerr's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Hawks Park. The final score had Chicago getting past the Mammoths, 4-3, in 10 innings. Kerr over 7.1 innings allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5. Chicago leads the Independent North Division by 2 games.

The Hawks got a clutch hit from third baseman Jose Baez. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Hawks.

"That was a good game -- all the way through," said Baez.
