| Mammoths Use Late Score to Top Hawks, 6-5 | Chicago catcher Steve Thomas had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Montreal at Mammoths Field. Thomas was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Montreal reliever Andy Wheelock picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. DeAndre Woods absorbed the loss. The win gives Montreal a record of 2-3.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Montreal. That's when Will Servais, who finished 4th in the IL in doubles with 26 last year, hit a run-scoring double off DeAndre Woods to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Servais.
