| 4-3 Tampa Bay Win Thrills Crowd | The Tampa Bay Sunrays wiggled past the Miami Makos, 4-3, in 10 innings at Sunrays Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Tampa Bay pitcher Matt Jennings. The win hiked the Tampa Bay record to 29-9.
The Sunrays were down to their final out when third baseman Gilberto Leyva turned a 1-0 fastball from Brian Swetha into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Sunrays Field crowd go wild.
Tampa Bay manager David Fields was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
