| Jackals Drop Kings, 8-6 | The Jacksonville Jackals knocked off the Boston Kings, 8-6, at Condors Park. David Dowdy was a big reason Jacksonville won. The first baseman went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Andy Partlow, the winner, goes to 3-3. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts over 6 innings. Picking up his 11th save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Ludwig.
Jacksonville used the clutch hitting of Terry Schultz to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Jackals ahead, 8-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"It feels good to get this one," Dowdy told the Jacksonville Times.
Jacksonville is now 18-24. | | | | |
