| Late Rally by Hawks Seals 4th Straight Win | The Chicago Hawks topped the Detroit Vipers, 7-4, in Independent action at Vipers Park. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Ryan Smith. Chicago has rattled off 4 straight wins.
Jean Guillot delivered a big hit for Chicago. The right fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"The vibe's good," said Chicago manager David Fields. "We've got to keep it going."
