| Hawks Procure 5-3 Victory | Detroit first baseman Emilio Orona had a good game, even if his team did not. The Vipers dropped a 5-3 decision to Chicago at Vipers Park. Orona was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The first-place Hawks have won 5 in a row.
With one out in the top of the first, Werner Aastrom put Chicago in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Hawks went on to win the ballgame.
