| Arlington Funk Reaches 6 Games | In a tight tilt between Miami and Arlington, pitcher Justin Brussow was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-1 Makos win. Walt Dudash collected his 5th save. Miami has now won 4 in a row.
Jose Roa had a big solo home run for the Makos in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Miami leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from Chris Kemmerer, who is tied for 5th in the IL in strikeouts with 69, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Makos on top, 3-1.
"Whenever I help the team," said Roa, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster." | | | | |
