Empire Ballpark was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

The Orlando Orange claimed a close win over the New York Empire, due in large part to Russ Phillipi. The Orlando right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. With the win over New York, the Orange improved to 19-26.

Tony McKee, who is a three-time Gold Glove Award winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. McKee contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Orlando up, 1-0.

"Russ is one tough hombre," said Orlando manager David Fields.
