| Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Kings | The Orlando Orange could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Russ Phillipi into a win. Instead, the Boston Kings prevailed, 4-2. Phillipi came in in relief and pitched to 25 batters. Boston has a record of 23-27, placing them third in the Independent Central.
Boston used the timely hitting of Dante Hill to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kings on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Hill said.
