The Boston Kings beat the Orlando Orange, 8-5, at Orange Park. Bobby Mendoza, who is tied for 4th in the IL in home runs with 12, starred for Boston. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Matthieu Thomas was the winner. He's now 1-5. The loser was Brian Herman.
Boston used a clutch at-bat from Dan Breyfogle to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Kings ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Feels good to get the job done," Mendoza said after the game.
Boston is now 24-27, Orlando 21-30.
