| Hawks Stumble, Lose to Makos | Miami pitcher Justin Brussow had a large part in his team beating the Chicago Hawks, 8-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Miami has an impressive 33-17 record.
Juan Chico had a big run-scoring double for the Makos in the bottom of the second inning. With Miami leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Adam Thompson, who finished 2nd in the UL in ERA with 2.92 in 2032, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Makos ahead, 2-0.
"Justin did a good job of managing their lineup," said Miami manager David Fields. | | | | |
