| Wilkins Leads Chicago to 2-0 Win | Stephen Wilkins, who finished 4th in the UL in innings pitched with 153.2 in 2033, was terrific for the Chicago Hawks in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Miami Makos. His performance earned Wilkins rave reviews. The Independent North Division-leading Hawks are 27-24.
Wilkins, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 6-3. In 8 innings of work, Wilkins gave up no runs on 3 hits, while racking up 8 Ks. He kept the Makos punchless, offensively.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Wilkins.
