| Kings Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally | The Boston Kings knocked off the Montreal Mammoths, 4-1, in Independent action at Condors Park. Boston pitcher and Lakewood, Colorado, native Roberto Vivanco had an outstanding performance. Reliever Joe Penrod picked up the win. His record improves to 3-4. Adam Edie took the loss. Ricardo Hernandez was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
Had Matt Cieslinski not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Cieslinski hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Kings.
Cieslinski called the win "a collective effort."
The second-place Kings have won 4 straight games. | | | | |
