| Empire Handle Fury, Grab 6-1 Win | New York Empire starter Bobby Frausto turned in a top-notch performance against the Philadelphia Fury at Fury Field. The result was a win for the Empire, 6-1. New York reliever Bobby Frausto picked up the win. Danny Ramirez, who is tied for 4th in the IL in complete games with 1, took the loss for Philadelphia. The last-place Empire are 20-33.
New York used a well-timed hit by Tim Murray to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Empire ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Frausto.
