| Makos Clip Jackals, 1-0 | The Jacksonville Jackals got a superb performance from pitcher David Melchor, but the Miami Makos still won the game, 1-0. Melchor threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball. With the victory, the Makos upped their record to 30-25.
Jim Charron came through with a big-time hit for Miami. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Charron said.
