Jacksonville used the clutch hitting of Miguel Loayza to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jackals ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
Loayza told a Jacksonville Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
