| Makos Take Down Mammoths, 7-6 | The Miami Makos grabbed a win, 7-6, over the Montreal Mammoths at Honolulu Stadium. Miami right fielder Willie de la Rosa was 1 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Brian Swetha picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Paul Wall suffered the loss. Miami, at 41-22, holds down third place in the Independent South.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Miami. That's when Gavin Newman hit a solo home run off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Paul Wall to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
