The Miami Makos and New York Empire completed their game despite the rain.

The Miami Makos picked up a win at Honolulu Stadium, downing the New York Empire, 10-2. On the mound for Miami was right-hander Vic Marinez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Marinez, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in complete games with 2, went the distance for Miami. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Makos grabbed the lead when Latrell Whitlock rapped a two-out single. Miami was trailing 1-0, when Whitlock hit a 2-run single off Sandy Elias to put his team in front, 2-1.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Whitlock.

The win elevated the Makos to 35-31.
