Chicago registered a win at Hawks Park by beating the New York Empire, 4-0. Pitcher Art Davis was one reason why the Hawks triumphed. Davis yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. New York, with the loss, is still a hardy 5-2.

Roger Camarena had a big run-scoring double for the Hawks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Rosa and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 2-0.

"Winning never gets dull," said Davis.
