Bruno yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 7-4. The first-place Robbers improved to 43-29.
Toronto used a well-timed hit by Dave Taggart to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Robbers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Taggart.
