The Boston Kings took Chicago pitcher Ryan Smith's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hawks Park. The final score had Boston getting past the Hawks, 4-2. Smith went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 8. Marty Graf was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Adam Thompson. Chicago now is 5-4.

Boston used a clutch hit from Dante Hill to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Kings ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hill said.
