The New York Empire took Jacksonville pitcher Raul Rodriguez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Empire Ballpark. The final score had New York getting past the Jackals, 6-5. Rodriguez went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. New York reliever Ricardo Penafiel got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Mike Ludwig was tagged with the loss. The first-place Empire have won 4 straight games.

Nick Pluff was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Empire second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
