| Fury Come Up Short at Detroit, 5-4 | The Detroit Vipers did just enough to sneak past the Philadelphia Fury, 5-4, at Vipers Park. Detroit pitcher Christophe Robert, in particular, had a standout performance. Detroit pitcher Enrique Flores got the win. He's now 5-0. Jose Jaramillo was tagged with the loss. The last-place Fury have dropped 4 straight games.
Kyle Overstreet had a clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two men out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Detroit center fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Vipers in the lead, 5-4.
Detroit manager David Fields commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
