| Vipers Secure 4-2 Win | Detroit turned a fine outing from starter Andrew Hood into a victory over the Chicago Hawks at Hawks Park. The final score was 4-2. Hood yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-8. Gabe Stanger finished to wrap up his 23rd save.
Detroit used the hitting of Benito Reyes to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Vipers on top, 2-0. For the game, Reyes had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Chicago skipper David Fields, "and it cost us."
Detroit has now won 4 games in a row. | | | | |
