Robbers Roll to 8-1 Win Over Empire
The 8-1 Toronto win over New York was due largely to Guadalupe Mejia. The Robbers right fielder belted 2 home runs. Josh Chira picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-13 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 3 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 1 run. Toronto is first in the Independent North Division with a record of 53-36.

Anton Molina had a big 2-run home run for the Robbers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Toronto leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Tellado and punished it. The result was his 19th home run of the season, which put the Robbers on top, 4-0.

Molina called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
