| Hawks Drop Close One Late | The Detroit Vipers picked up a win at Hawks Park, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 2-1. Starting pitcher Justin Young was a big reason why. The Hawks drop to 5-5 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2042 season.
Bill Shaw had a direct impact on the outcome. Shaw contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the 11th inning to put Detroit up, 2-1.
"It was terrific getting this win," Shaw said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
