| Fury Need Extra Innings to Top Sunrays, 4-3 | The Philadelphia Fury faced a tough opponent in Tampa Bay pitcher Jeff Bolser, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Sunrays Field by a final score of 4-3. Bolser went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mike Schield, now 2-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The losses continue to mount for Tampa Bay, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
Christian Cruz, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2037 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cruz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Philadelphia up, 4-3.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant David Fields, the Philadelphia manager.
