| Contreras Slugs Fury to 9-5 Win | The Philadelphia Fury beat the Tampa Bay Sunrays, 9-5, at Sunrays Field. Daniel Contreras, who is tied for 7th in the IL in triples with 3, starred for Philadelphia. He belted 3 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 6. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Manuel Lopez. He tossed 97 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. Tampa Bay's current losing streak is now 8 games.
With Philadelphia leading 5-4 in the top of the fifth, Contreras hit a fastball from Alvin Collins for a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Fury ahead, 7-4.
