| Vipers Drop Sunrays, 7-3 | The Detroit Vipers spoiled a good performance by Tampa Bay right fielder Robbie Aburto, bumping off Tampa Bay, 7-3, at Sunrays Field. Aburto went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Justin Young, the winner, is now 7-10. He struck out 8 and walked 2 over 5 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The Vipers improved to 48-46.
Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Luis Bojorquez to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Vipers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Detroit manager David Fields.
