| Sunrays Victorious at Philadelphia, 3-1 | Kevin Hunt pitched well, but his team, the Philadelphia Fury, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Tampa Bay Sunrays at Fury Field. Tampa Bay reliever Malcolm Fields picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Kevin Hunt took the loss. John Winsor collected save number 23.
Had Danny Gutierrez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Gutierrez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Sunrays.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Gutierrez.
Philadelphia has now lost 4 consecutive games.
