| Arsenal Sneak Past Sunrays, 4-3 | The Arlington Arsenal did just enough to sneak past the Tampa Bay Sunrays, 4-3, at Ballpark of Arlington. Arlington pitcher Brett Skinner, in particular, had a standout performance. Henry Laboy snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Gary Davis suffered the loss. At 50-49, the Arsenal claim third place in the Independent Central.
Erick Alvarado was the walk-off hero for Arlington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Arsenal shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I love playing this game, so you'll never see me not want to go out there and pitch," said Skinner.
