The Boston Kings picked up a win at Vipers Park, knocking off the Detroit Vipers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Greg Schuler was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Schuler, now 7-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 10. The third-place Kings now sit at 43-54.

Boston used the hitting of Sergio Contreras to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kings on top, 4-2. For the game, Contreras had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Schuler.
