Charron Hits 2 home runs in Makos Win
The Miami Makos defeated the Boston Kings, 6-4. First Baseman Jim Charron deserved a large share of the credit. Charron was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Makos. Reliever Carlos Sanchez picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Miguel Salguero, who is tied for 7th in the IL with a 9.8 K/9 rate, took the loss. Walt Dudash was called on to finish, recording his 24th save.

Charron had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Miguel Salguero, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Makos a 6-3 lead. It was the 33rd home run of the year for Charron.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Charron.

Miami, at 66-32, holds down first place in the Independent South.
