| Robbers Lose, 6-5 | The Detroit Vipers picked up a win at Mounties Park, knocking off the Toronto Robbers, 6-5. Starting pitcher Justin Young was a big reason why. Young, now 9-10, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Andrew Hood, his 1st.
In the top of the third, Detroit catcher Chris Lightfoot had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Lightfoot stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-1, Detroit. For the game, he went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Detroit manager David Fields was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
The win elevated the Vipers to 55-48.
