Sunrays Fall Short, 3-2, at Jacksonville
In a low-scoring contest between the Jacksonville Jackals and the Tampa Bay Sunrays, Jason Flaugh, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in complete games with 3, proved to be the difference. The Jacksonville right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Jackals win. Mike Ludwig earned the save, his 24th, for the Jackals. The third-place Jackals have won 5 in a row.

Andy Rivera had a big solo home run for the Jackals in the bottom of the third inning. With Jacksonville leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from Lee O'Meara, who led the UL in innings pitched with 166.1 in 2040, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Jackals on top, 3-0.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Tampa Bay manager David Fields.
