Apodaca Delivers Walk-Off Win for Empire
The New York Empire picked up a win at Empire Ballpark, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 4-3. On the mound for New York was left-hander Danny Garcia. He played a key role in the triumph. The loss makes Chicago 38-69.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 28-year old third baseman Julio Apodaca had a chance to be the hero. Chicago pitcher Pedro Flores wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Apodaca hit a sacrifice fly. The Empire had themselves a thrilling win.

"I was able to fill up the zone," said Garcia.
