| Rangers Sneak By Queens, 7-6 | The Houston Rangers overcame a pretty good performance by Denver designated hitter Mike Smith, beating the Queens, 7-6, at Globe Life Field. Smith hit 2 home runs. Al Reyes closed it out for his 2nd save. The win gives Houston a record of 3-0.
Bob Skolnick drove in one run for Houston. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Sergio Aguilar. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Skolnick.
