| Cardenas Shines in 4-3 Mexico City Win | The Mexico City Marauders got their 2042 season off and running with a win over the Seattle Pilots at Marauders Field. The final score was 4-3. Mexico City first baseman Mario Cardenas, in particular, had a fine performance. Russell Schneider earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 12 strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work.
With Mexico City leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Cardenas hit a changeup from Pedro Ochoa for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Marauders ahead, 4-0.
"Good teams find a way to win close games," Cardenas said.
