| Melendez Goes Deep Twice in 3-2 Marauders Win | Both teams had their chances, but the Mexico City Marauders eventually prevailed.
Behind the hitting of Sergio Melendez, the Mexico City Marauders stopped the Dallas Jets, 3-2. Melendez was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Marauders . Santiago Negrete earned the win. Edgar Rodriguez, who finished 3rd in the UL in wins with 14 in 2041, took the loss for Dallas. Nick Weaver earned save number 1 this season.
Melendez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Mexico City in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Melendez took a splitter from Edgar Rodriguez and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Marauders to leap in front, 2-1.
Melendez called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
Mexico City is now 1-2.
