| Luchadors Deny Pioneers, 4-3 | The San Diego Luchadors picked up a win at Pioneers Park, dropping the San Francisco Pioneers, 4-3. Pat Caniglia, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2039 draft, was the difference-maker. Bobby Samu, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2040 draft, nailed down the save. The win gives San Diego a record of 7-2.
Josh Gannon dealt the Pioneers a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and San Diego leading 3-0, Gannon, who finished 5th in the UL in OPS with .857 in 2043, hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring single.
"Pat was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said San Diego manager David Fields.
