| Firebirds Drop Hitters, 4-3 | The Firebirds earned a hard-fought, 4-3 win in 11 innings at Hitters Park. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Hollywood pitcher Rich Cole. Cole went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Phoenix reliever Omar Martinez, now 1-0. The loser was Mike Wright. With the win, Phoenix climbs to 2-7.
Danny Monter, who is rated as the 82nd best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Monter contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put Phoenix up, 4-3.
