Firebirds Reel-In 2-1 Win Over Jets
The Dallas Jets went down to defeat to Kasey Whitmore and his Phoenix teammates. The final score was 2-1, in favor of the Firebirds. Jose Hernandez, who finished 2nd in the UL in saves with 30 in 2040, earned the save for Phoenix. The Firebirds are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 12 games.

Jesus Barcia delivered a big hit for Phoenix. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Firebirds ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Kasey controlled the strike zone," said Phoenix manager David Fields.
