The Denver Queens got a good effort from starter Alejandro Turrubiartes in defeating the Leon Toltecs at Queens Field. The final score was 4-1. The Toltecs fall to 5-7 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Denver went up, 2-1, on Eddie Steffes's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Steffes hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Leon pitcher Josh Neal shaking his head.

Steffes said his team "played with a purpose."
